Privacy policy

This policy explains which personal data Verhuurhaven processes, why that happens and which rights you have.

1. Controller

2. Which data we process

  • Account data: the email address you are signed in under. Signing in is still simulated in this version: you create no account, you enter no password and your session lives only in your own browser storage.
  • Property data: address, floor areas, amenities, energy label and WOZ value that you enter or that we retrieve from public sources. We keep this data in your own browser storage, not on our servers.
  • Interest in the rent check for rooms: your email address, the sign-up topic, your language and the time you give consent. We request no other data for this waitlist.
  • Usage data: technical log files with IP address, browser type and timestamp, so we can resolve faults.

3. Why and on which legal basis

  • Performance of the agreement: to calculate your points count. The property details you entered go to our calculation service for that. We do not keep the outcome: it lives in your own browser.
  • Consent: intended to inform you by email about the rent check for rooms. The sign-up form is still a preview in this version: your email address is not sent and not stored, so no sign-up is open yet.
  • Legitimate interest: security, abuse prevention and improving the service.

4. Retention periods

Your sign-in session lives in your own browser and expires by itself; signing out clears it immediately. Property data also lives in your own browser, so you keep or clear it yourself. We keep technical log files for 90 days.

5. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell data. In this version we work with a hosting provider within the EU and with our own calculation service, which queries the public sources. We only bring in other processors once the matching feature goes live, and we name them here when we do. We sign a processing agreement with every processor.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. For the room check, withdraw consent directly through the unsubscribe link in every email. You can also email privacy@verhuurhaven.nl; we reply within one month. You can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

7. Security

Traffic runs over TLS and access to production data is limited to staff who need it. Signing in is still simulated in this version, so it does not yet protect any personal data.
